The Sensory Nook is designed to create a dedicated retreat within sensory rooms, SEN environments and inclusive play spaces.
Designed for sensory rooms, SEND environments and inclusive play spaces, the Sensory Nook provides a soft, rounded feature where children can sit, explore or take a quieter moment within a larger space.
Available in three sizes, it’s a simple way to add another layer of interest and variety to a sensory space without taking up a larger footprint.
Designed for Sensory Spaces
Its curved design creates a cosy, inviting space that can be incorporated alongside other sensory equipment such as lighting, fibre optics and interactive features.
We’ve previously supplied Sensory Nooks for specialist environments including SEN Schools, where the feature forms part of a dedicated sensory room designed for children with SEND.
The Sensory Nook works particularly well within:
- Sensory Rooms
- SEN Settings
- Inclusive Play Areas
- Specialist Children’s Environments
- Quiet zones within a large play space.
Rather than taking over the room, it gives you a dedicated smaller space within the larger environment.
Why a Sensory Nook?
Sensory environments can be busy, stimulating places. The Sensory Nook creates a smaller, more contained area within that environment.
It can give children somewhere to retreat, reset, and explore without removing them completely from the space around them.
For operators, it’s a flexible way to introduce a dedicated quiet area without needing a huge amount of floor space.
Designed for Real Sensory Environments
The Sensory Nook isn’t just designed for the product catalogue.
We’ve already used this feature as part of the sensory room at Our Special Angels, a specialist childcare environment in Walsall.
The room combines calming colours, fibre optic strands, LED lighting and other sensory features to create a considered environment for children with SEND.
Working on projects like this gives us a practical understanding of how equipment needs to work within sensory spaces, where creating the right balance of stimulation, comfort and quieter areas is just as important as the equipment itself.
