Gym Owner Finds Ideal Busy High Street Location for New Softplay Centre

Based in North London, Dean already owns and runs a successful gymnastics business that provides coaching and facilities to kids from the age of 2 yrs through to competition teenagers.

Successful in its’ own right, Dean was looking for opportunities to add value to the brand and tap into his existing customer base. Establishing a softplay centre was the logical progression.

Looking in his local area, Dean came across an ideal location on the busy high street in Barnet. Recently vacated and previously being used as a dance studio, the site already had the correct planning classification for an indoor softplay centre, which saved a potentially long and costly process for a change of use application.

With the lease sorted, Dean approached Play Creations to design a fun-packed softplay area, that would maximise the space available and work around the existing columns and steels that were present in the space.

UK Soft Play Design, Manufacture and Installation

Given the 4m roof height, the area was designed as a 2 level softplay frame with a dropped section in the centre of the play frame to accomodate the roof steel that protruded into the space.

The main softplay area, which caters for 2-12 year olds includes 2 feature slides, with the twin lane slide including chevron artwork to further enhance the sliding effect. Dean didn’t want a specific theme applied to the frame and merely wanted bright, bold colours applying to the softplay frame, that reflected his existing gym brand.

Also included for maximum play value were spring steps, bouncing ball boards, a large trampoline, climbing, hanging and squeeze features as well as our feature giant pinwheel. As with all of our indoor play frame designs, the entire area was designed and built to satisfy and exceed the standard for indoor play, EN;1176.
