Adventure Play, Soft Play

When Tim approached Play Creations, he had a clear audience in mind: children aged 0-5 and the adults coming along with them. The space needed to encourage children to explore independently, while still making it easy for parents and guardians to get involved.

With 2,000 sq.ft. to work with, we desgined the soft play around this balance. Rather than simply filling the space with equipment, we considered how younger children would move through the structure and where adults would need to be able to assist them.

Turning the Softplay Design into Reality

The finished design combines adventure play with softer, sensory features aimed at different stages of development. Dizzy disks, snakes and a twin-lane slide create plenty of opportunities for movement, while wall-mounted activity boards add quieter, interactive play.

A large ball pit was also an important part of Tim's brief. We created a four grid ball pool within the main structure, alongside a smaller single grid pool at the front. This gave younger children and their parents a dedicated space to play together.

Floor matting and additional sensory features completed the layout, helping the space offer more than one type of play.

From Equipment to Installation

Once the design was agreed, our installation team brought everything together on site. Careful planning meant each section of the framework and equipment could be installed securely while keeping the finished layout practical and easy to navigate.

The result was a bright, welcoming soft play cafe designed specifically around its youngest visitors. Every element had a purpose, from the larger adventure features through to the smaller sensory activities.

A Softplay Space Built Around Families

Ladybird Softplay Cafe was designed to give young children plenty of freedom to explore without leaving their parents on the sidelines. The combination of independent play, assisted activities and different levels of challenge means families can use the space together in a way that suits them.

Tim and his wife were delighted with the finished result, and the project gave Ladybird a soft play designed around the needs of its 0-5 audience rather than a one size fits all play structure.
