Play Ranges:

soft play, sensory play, adventure play

In 2025, headteacher of Serenity School, Adam Foster, approached Play Creations Ltd to design and manufacture a softplay that would fit into the corridor space he had available. The school wanted the project to be completed before the children started back in September. Play Creations Ltd worked alongside the site manager, Michael Lewis, to ensure that the installation process ran smoothly. The softplay colour scheme came from the brand colours of the school, allowing it to seamlessly fit in with surrounding themes. Adam's main requirements was that the softplay met the needs of the children and informed Play Creations Ltd that they needed a secure fence system to stop the children from using the play equipment unsupervised. He also gave the expert softplay design team at Play Creations full creative control over the project, ensuring that the project was suitable for children aged 4 - 12.

Design and Planning

Play Creations Ltd were given a softplay budget of £30,000 for this installation. The softplay design had to fit into this cost, whilst ensuring the safety and compliance, functionality and durability of the build. The bespoke softplay would be featured in a busy main corridor so there needed to be a system put in place to stop the children using the play equipment when they weren't supposed to. The softplay design team at Play Creations crafted a fence and gate system as a solution to this. Longevity and play value were other factors that the team had to consider, wanting to maximise the space and ensure that the softplay was a good value for cost: they added in features such as the Dizzy Disk, Twin Slides, and Softplay Shape Sorter to enhance the play value and interaction element of the softplay design.
