Sensory Play, Softplay

In 2024, the senior leadership team at Rushall Primary School contacted Play Creations regarding a large softplay project spanning over 4 rooms. The concept made up the 4 areas by including: a large softplay area, 2 sensory rooms and a movement room. . The 2 sensory rooms had completely different requirements. The first of the rooms was to be a solitary sensory room, designed for 1 child to de-escalate and calm down. The second of the rooms would be for 2 children, so needed to be larger and have enough equipment for both pupils. The children immerse themselves in a calm and soothing environment even with the bright and bold theme. Built for de-escalation whilst still prompting interactivity and engagement. Children aged 4 - 16 can utlise the equipment in these sensory rooms.

The project took place over the summer holidays during the schools refurbishment, which led to Play Creations liaising with the main contractors to ensure a smooth softplay install which blended with their school revamp. This happened over the summer holidays to ensure that it didn't interfere with the children's education. Our team liased with the main contractor on site, operating on their schedule to ensure that neither project was obstructing the other. This engagement allowed for a smooth install and blended perfectly with the refurbishment of the school.
