Rushall School - Movement Room

In summer of 2024, the senior leadership team at Rushall Primary School contacted Play Creations Ltd regarding a project spanning over 4 rooms. They wanted to have a softplay area, 2 sensory rooms and a movement room. The movement room was requested to encourage the children to interact with their environment and use proprioception within the space. Balance, co-ordination and physical feedback were the main focus for the equipment in the room, and Play Creations Ltd were asked focus on this when designing the content. Rushall School wanted to help children's motor skills in an adaptive and interactive softplay space. The colour tones for this space was bright and bold, highlighting all 500 sq. ft of space and encouraging the children to utilise the space. The other brief for this build was to appeal to a wide spread of age ranges, wanting to not only maximise the play value in the space itself but also the people that could use it. This softplay is designed to suit children aged 4 - 16. The budget for this room was £18,000, which was set by Rushall. The money went towards manufacturing an interesting and interactive softplay, whilst also sourcing high quality materials. The process for this softplay involved working alongside the main contractor site, operating on their schedule to ensure that neither project was obstructing the other. Play Creations Ltd had to engage with them to ensure a smooth install and blend with the refurbishment of the school. The bespoke movement softplay was designed to be durable and functional, whilst also complying with safety and standard compliances. The installation was structured to maximise the amount of movement the children could explore. Utilising softplay equipment such as the Swinging Log and Swinging Platform, these allowed the children to move in different motions and they can interact with the equipment in different ways. The finalised installation, manufactured and designed by our expert softplay team, was finished on time and stayed within the budget. Efficiently delivered, this colourful bespoke movement softplay area was manufactured and designed in the UK and met the needs of the pupils attending Rushall Primary School. With large spaces and strong equipment the space is perfectly suitable for ages 4 - 16, and the key goal of maximising the agility and motion able to be created in the room was met. With softplay equipment such as the Swinging Log, Swinging Platform and Ball Spinner, the softplay space was able to be interacted with in a proprioceptive way. The senior leadership team at Rushall Primary School were overjoyed with the final result, amazed by Play Creations Ltd's ability to maximise the movement value in the softplay.
